Christine is a professional and capable manager having held senior positions across the statutory and not-for-profit sectors for over 36 years. A qualified social worker since 1991 and procurement professional. She has extensive practical experience of assessment and procurement processes, bid writing, strategic planning, management and operational implementation at local, regional and national level.
Christine was part of the original board who were instrumental in forming Norfolk Care Association(NorCA) and gaining recognition from the wider health and social care system, ensuring NorCA is represented in the new integrated landscape. NorCA as a result is now members of the Integrated Care Partnership, Integrated Care System workstreams and Health and Well Being Partnerships. Meeting quarterly with NCC senior management team at the Joint Consultative Forum, Christine was also requested to represent NorCA at the House of Commons in 2022.
Her networking skills have supported the development of partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders across a range of disciplines and has resulted in adult social care being on key strategic groups. Christine was appointed a member of the Local Enterprise Partnership in 2018 enabling access to further funding for the sector. Co-writing the Sector Skills Plan and the highly successful European Social Care Fund bid Developing Skills in Health and Social Care bringing significant inward local investment to training and education for the sector.
Christine is a Doctor of Civil Law, receiving her honorary doctorate from the UEA and City College Norwich in 2021 for her lifelong commitment to education and training locally. A passionate proponent of the development and professionalisation of the workforce. In 2018 she supported social care providers access the Nursing Associate apprenticeship and facilitated some of the first levy transfers in the country.
A communicator at all levels, who worked tirelessly through COVID with partners, often with differing aims and objectives, to ensure social care received the necessary equipment, timely advice and information and were understood by the wider system. A member of the Vaccination Planning Team and advocate for equitable access throughout.
Now semi-retired but remains a social worker and a dedicated advocate for social care.
