The NHS National Booking System is now open for this year’s flu vaccination programme, with eligible people able to book their appointments ahead of the winter season.

Vaccinations begin from 1 September for pregnant women, children aged two and three, and children aged from six months to 17 years who are in a clinical risk group.

Other eligible groups can also book now for appointments taking place from 1 October, including:

  • People aged 65 and over
  • Adults with certain long-term health conditions
  • Care home residents
  • Carers
  • People who are immunocompromised and their close contacts

Appointments can be booked through the NHS App, online through the NHS flu vaccination booking service, or by calling 119 for those unable to book online.

Winter vaccination resources for providers

UKHSA and NHS England have also published their 2026/27 winter vaccinations stakeholder toolkit to support organisations promoting flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccination this winter.

The toolkit includes key messages, FAQs, statistics, social media materials and information about ordering posters and leaflets. New and updated resources explaining vaccine eligibility are also available.

These resources may be particularly useful for adult social care providers communicating with staff, people who draw on care and support, and their families ahead of winter.
