Thursday 14th May, 10:00am – 4:30pm at The King’s Centre, Norwich
Replacing our in-person subgroups this year, the summit offers one inclusive space for providers to connect across services and explore shared challenges to reach solutions collectively.
What makes this different?
- You shape the conversation: We’ll start with a rich set of seeded topics – the issues that are already live across the sector, from workforce and finance to commissioning and inspection. But using an Open Space format, the agenda is yours to build on the day. If you have a topic that matters to you, you can add it. The sessions that carry the most energy will determine where the day goes.
- The Law of Two Feet: If you’re not contributing or learning in a session, feel free to move to one where you can. It sounds simple, but it’s a powerful principle: the conversations most worth having will naturally find the people who care about them.

What to expect
The summit is an all day event (lunch included), with the morning dedicated to social care providers. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with peers, share what’s really working (and what isn’t), and explore practical solutions together. It’s a chance to talk honestly, without commissioners or external partners in the room, about the challenges you face and the ideas you’re testing.
At lunch time, commissioners and system partners will be invited to join, creating an informal space to connect before the afternoon sessions.
The afternoon will shift to joint conversations. Commissioners and system partners are not there to present or defend positions. They are participants – people with their own pressures, questions, and a genuine stake in getting things right. Together, we’ll work on shared system challenges, exploring what’s possible when we think laterally across the whole system.

Topics to get us started
These are some of the conversations we know providers are interested in. On the day, attendees will have the opportunity to add topics too.
- Finding and keeping the people we need – recruitment, retention and what is actually working
- International recruitment – where are we now? – navigating visa changes, support gaps and building a sustainable approach
- Living with the commissioning frameworks – what is working, what isn’t, and what needs to change
- Making the money work – financial sustainability, diversifying income and managing rising costs
- CQC and PAMMS – learning from inspection – experiences, preparation tips and what good looks like
- Demonstrating what we do – measuring and communicating outcomes and impact
- Is it rocket science? – sharing ideas that have made a real difference
- Putting people first – client and community engagement that genuinely shapes what we do
- Stronger together – building peer support, shared resource and a more connected provider community across Norfolk
- Shame, shock and shouldn’t be allowed – productive social care campaigning approaches
Who is this for?
- Social care providers across Norfolk (all types and sizes)
- System partners, such as local authority commissioners, who want to work more laterally with the provider community
If you care about the future of social care in Norfolk and believe that better conversations lead to better solutions, this event is for you.
