Calling adult social care nurses!
Skills for Care offer a wide variety of community groups to support you – these include:
Global Majority Nursing network
Available to Black and Asian registered nurses or nursing associates. The Global Majority Nursing network aims to provide you with a place to share insight and experiences, embrace collaborative working and access personal development and leadership opportunities.
Nursing Workforce forum
This forum provides a dedicated space for leaders in social care nursing to explore practice innovation, continuing professional development, and career opportunities. Members will also gain insight into opportunities to contribute to national policy discussions and benefit from networking with peers, providers, and sector stakeholders.
Nursing Education forum
This forum is dedicated to NMC approved education programmes for nurses and nursing associates. It’s open to individuals and organisations committed to strengthening the role of social care within nursing education through teaching, practice learning, or research.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape innovation and influence developments from both education and care provider perspectives. You can help ensure that future nursing graduates gain meaningful, positive, and rewarding experiences in social care practice learning, as well as access to valuable post-graduate opportunities.
Members will benefit from hearing directly from others involved in nursing education, receive updates on sector developments relevant to nursing programmes, as well as opportunities to share best practice, collaborate and debate current issues and challenges.
Social Care Network for Students and Early Career Nursing
In partnership with and led by the Council of Deans of Health we have also launched the Social Care Network for Students and Early Career Nursing.
- If you’re a student nurse or nursing associate or just starting out in your nursing career in social care this is designed for you.
- If you’re a care provider hosting students or an employer of newly qualified nurses and nursing associates then please encourage them to get involved as it is a great opportunity for peer support, developing a collective voice, hearing from others and understanding local and national nursing policy.
