The Norfolk Picture
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) register shows that there are 152 providers of domiciliary care services in Norfolk, delivering care from 179 locations or offices.
Based on adult social care activity data for Norfolk, 5,130 people aged 18–64 and 7,040 people aged 65 and over accessed long-term home care support during 2023/24, a total of 12,170 individuals. This figure excludes people who purchase home care privately.
For 2024/25, Skills for Care reports that 6,700 people are employed in non-residential care settings in Norfolk — equivalent to 5,500 full-time equivalent (FTE) posts. The vacancy rate for non-residential care settings was 11.4% (compared to 6.2% for the Norfolk sector overall), while the staff turnover rate was 17.7% (compared to 20.9% for the Norfolk sector overall).
What can Norfolk Care Association do for you?
Norfolk Care Association runs quarterly sector sub-group meetings for home care providers. We also advocate on behalf of providers, raising issues that affect the sector, and curate relevant information and resources to support best practice.
