The Emergency Call

It started with a distress call from a Supported Living service in crisis. Their Registered Manager had walked out without notice, leaving a care team and administrator suddenly holding everything together on their own. NJS Consultancy didn’t just offer advice over the phone, they showed up.

From Saturday evening through to Tuesday morning, the NJS team worked alongside the service shift by shift, rolling up their sleeves to stabilise what could have become a serious situation. In just a few days, they helped tighten up medication administration, overhauled quality assurance systems, reviewed care plans, and built practical accident, incident and safeguarding trackers. This is all while keeping the service running. They left the team with a live action plan so progress wouldn’t stop when NJS walked out the door.

Raising the Bar

By Thursday, the same week, NJS were across town in two residential homes, conducting mock CQC inspections. Both services were already rated ‘Good’, but their ambition was Outstanding. Using the Key Lines of Enquiry aligned to CQC’s new draft inspection framework, NJS carried out rigorous assessments and produced targeted action plans to help each team understand exactly what it would take to reach that higher rating.
